Saturday, October 7th 2000 This is probably the best view of Mount Nittany, and the hike is a rather simple one. I wanted to take some nice photos of the foliage, and I figured that this would be the best place for it. The following were shot on Kodachrome 64, which was not my first choice of film, and I have some more photos coming soon, some taken on pro print film, and some with Elite Chrome. I bought a lightweight tripod to use, and I strapped it to my CamelBak with an old GI sleeping back carrier. The arrangement worked pretty well. The tripod was light enough, yet strong enough to do the job. I did make a bit of a mistake by waiting until it was too dark to take photos before I started back. I wound up using one of my lightsticks as a flashlight, and hiking out in the dark. I always bring a few cyalume sticks with me, and it sure did come in handy on this trip. Since the area is so rocky, it would have taken a long time to hike out with no moon!
